HQ Makerspace Room 210

You say “crusty”, we say “character”. Appropriately nicked-named “Headquarters”, the Headquarters Makerspace is housed on the second floor of what once was the Post

Post Card from Camp KilmerCommand Headquarters building of Camp Kilmer, one of the largest military camps of World War II. With few modifications over the years from the original look, the post command HQ building was often a WWII era gathering place for presidents, legendary entertainers and sport stars such as Elvis Presley, Benny Goodman, Betty Grable, Frank Sinatra, Ethel Merman, Bob Hope, Red Skelton, Willie Mays, and New York Yankee’s Joe DiMaggio.  Dignitaries and celebrities often visited the camp to entertain troops heading for Europe (or in some cases, to “ship out” themselves).

Camp Kilmer Post Headquarters Building WWIIToday, the Headquarters Makerspace includes an open floor plan of classrooms, rooms for prototyping equipment, workshop, workstations, and offices. During a class break, enjoy the pool table located within the classroom. Convenient parking is located in front of the building.

Rutgers University Headquarters Makerspace

35 Berrue Circle, Suite 206, Livingston Campus,

Piscataway NJ 08854

The HQ Makerspace is on the SouthEast corner of Rutgers Livingston Campus (look for the tall radio tower). It's a yellow two-story wood frame building on the corner of Berrue Circle and Joyce Kilmer Avenue. Plentiful on street parking across from building. Enter the building lobby, and proceed up the *RIGHT* side spiral staircase. At top of stairs, the Makerspace is on your right. The classroom is in the back of the suite.

Don't like driving around big college campuses? We understand, so here's an easy "back door" route to the HQ Makerspace from US Route 287:

Route 287 to exit 7 (South Randolfville Road) and turn South ( this is a right turn off exit if you were 287 Southbound, or left turn off exit if you were Rt 287 Northbound). Just up the road, continue straight through the Centennial Avenue intersection, and the Extended Stay America Hotel.  Just pass the intersection and hotel, take next left to stay on South Randolfville Road. Follow South Randolfville Road (35 MPH) to the end (Metlars Lane) and make a right. Stay on Metlars Lane to next intersection, and continue straight onto Suttons Lane. After about a mile, just before the end of Suttons Lane. Berrue Circle will be on your right. We're the yellow building just up the street on left (35 Berrue Circle. Piscataway, NJ 08854).
